Ride Your Bike To School Event
To all students that rode your bike to school yesterday, can you please come to the office to put your name in a draw to win some great stuff!
Dual Credit Health Care Aide Program
Any students who will be in Grade 12 in the upcoming school year (2023- 2024) that are interested in the Dual Credit Health Care Aide program through ACC please see Ms. Smith in guidance before Wednesday, June 7th.
Varsity Boys Volleyball
There will be Clipper Varsity Boys Volleyball Tryouts Monday, June 12, 3:30 - 5:30 and Thursday, June 15, 3:30 - 5:30 at the DRCSS Lower gym. Tryouts are open to any current Grade 8, 9, 10, or 11 boys interested in playing Varsity Boys Volleyball next fall. Please sign up in the office and see Mr. Schmidt if you have any questions.
Varsity Boys Basketball
For any students interested in playing varsity boy’s basketball next year, there will be a meeting on Thursday, June 8, at 12:30 in the student centre. See Ms. Michaluk with any questions. There will be a meeting for all boys who played on the Varsity team this year and are interested in playing next year on Tuesday June6 at 12:30pm in the student center.
Football Spring Camp
The high school football season will soon be here. Clippers football spring camp to be held June 7 and June 12&14 at the Clipper field, 4:00 pm. Bring cleats, water and shorts & t-shirts. Please spread the word. Open to all MVSD students, current grade 8-11’s.
DRCSS Make Up Time
The home stretch is coming up next week with the final 8 days of make-up time starting on Monday, May 29th. All students who have make-up time need to be attending these sessions. If you run out of days to do your make-up time, you will not receive your PE credit. Please plan accordingly.

Block 5 Scholarships
Locally sponsored Block 5 scholarships have been added to the Scholarship Calendar on the DRCSS website under Parents and Students. Paper copies will be available in Guidance, the office, and the library. Applications for the scholarships need to be uploaded to the Potential Graduate Information and Scholarship Applications Team by noon on June 8, 2023. Need to Know! from this past week (May 29-June 4);
DRCSS Rugby 15s - (Boys Community Coaches; Aaron Miner, Gerald Lopez, Girls Community Coaches; Shawn Sarkonak, Kent Miner, Supervisor; Mr. Rudkavich) - The DRCSS Rugby 15s continued to impress this past weekend, June 2 and 3 at the Rugby Provincial Championship at St. Paul's High School in Winnipeg.
The Girls team took care of St. Mary's high school in the semi-finals 47-0 and then beat Rivers 27-10 in the finals winning this year's Rugby Provincial Championship.
The Boys team played tough but lost a close semi-final match to Dakota 5-0. The Boys then went on to blank Crocus 39-0 to earn a Bronze medal at this year's Championship.

DRCSS Baseball - (Coach and Supervisor; Mr. Sheldon) - The Clipper Baseball team lost their final game of the year in the PWHSBL North/South crossover game in Killarney vs the Raiders. Good season Clippers!
DRCSS Track and Field - (Supervisor; Ms. Kristjanson, Mr. Heschuk, Mr. Erbach) - 22 DRCSS Athletes attended the Track and Field Zones in Swan River last Tuesday, May 30. 17 qualified for Provincials in one or more events!
The Clipper Track and Field (17 participants qualified ) team will be travelling to Brandon this Thursday, Jun 8, Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10 to compete in this year's MHSAA Track and Field Provincial Championship. Good luck to all the athletes!
