DRCSS Graduate Information 2025
Graduation Ceremony date and time: Saturday, June 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Credit Union Place
Before Grad
- Graduate Information – each grad must complete the following form https://forms.office.com/r/xiiKSFxHb7 before Thursday, June 19. If you have questions, email Mrs. Graham at [email protected].
- Awards/Recognition - Any students receiving awards or recognitions from outside of the DRCSS can forward this information to [email protected] before Thursday June 19 so that it can be included in the student’s convocation information.
- Accessible seating is available at the top of the stands along the main concourse. The school will not be arranging reserved seating for this event.
- Please come to the MPR on Thursday, June 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to do the following:
- Return overdue books/uniforms, and pay any outstanding fees. All overdue items must be returned, and all outstanding fees must be paid before you can pick up your grad materials (gown, vehicle sign, etc.)
- Confirm your attendance at grad, check your name pronunciation/plans for after grad (announced at grad).
- Pick up your grad gown in the MPR.
- Pick up your Safe Grad parade info/vehicle sign.
- Complete grad walkthrough (at CUP)– Ms. Foley will be available to take grads on a walkthrough of the process for grad so that they know what to expect on graduation day.
- If you know that you are NOT attending the Graduation Ceremony, please let the main office AND Guidance know ASAP.
Ceremony
- Graduates arrive at Credit Union Place by 11:30 a.m. and go to the grad staging area.
- Staff members to check and make sure your cap and gown are being worn correctly.
- You will take a group grad photo.
- Snacks and refreshments will be provided for Grads.
- You will be lined up in alphabetical order – stay in this order as you make your way into the arena and sit down. This is the same order that your names will be announced during convocation.
- Doors will open for spectators at 11:30 a.m. The Graduation Ceremony will begin at 1:00 sharp.
- A reminder that the Credit Union Place is not air conditioned.
- Valedictorian – This year's potential grads voted Laine Brouzes as their Valedictorian! Congratulations Laine!
Presentation of Scrolls
- When your name is called, walk onto the stage and stop in front of the podium. Stand on the X while your after-grad plans are read out loud.
- Then, walk to Mr. Schmidt to be presented with a scroll (this is not your diploma – the diploma will be in your grad package) and stand with Mr. Schmidt until he tells you it’s time to exit the stage.
- Do not leave the stage until the MC has finished talking about you (announcing your plans for after grad, scholarships/awards, etc.)
- Please drop your scroll in the “Scrolls” container at the bottom of the stairs.
- At the bottom of the stairs, Mr. Todoruk will direct you where to go:
- If you received an award, go to the photo area.
- If you did not receive an award, return to the grad seating area following the directions of the ushers.
Award Recipients
- After your time on the stage, you will make your way to the photo area.
- Please greet any sponsors of your awards and chat with them briefly- make sure to thank them for their sponsorship.
- Take photos with all presenters (photographers will have a list).
After the Ceremony
- You are welcome to take photos with friends/family in your cap and gown at the arena or at the school.
- Gowns will be returned to the DRCSS after the ceremony. Please return your gown, stole, and plastic bag to the MPR before 4:00 p.m.
After Grad – Monday, June 23
- Graduates receiving awards are to come to the DRCSS main office to write thank-you notes to sponsors and pick up their cheques on Monday June 23 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Photos – Sunday, June 29
- DRCSS photos (grads receiving diploma and with award sponsors) will be available on the DRCSS website by Sunday, June 29
